Jennifer Brandt, MRT, of Fort Worth, is a registered radiologist assistant at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She is a member of the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists, Society of Radiology Physician Extenders and American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Brandt received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in radiologic sciences from Midwestern State University.

 

TMB Suspends Houston Physician (Win)

On January 12, 2023, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Htut Kyaw Win, M.D. (Lic. No. M0972), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.  

 

The Board panel found that based on the evidence, Dr. Win suffers from an impairment and had his privileges terminated at his employer based on that impairment.  

 

Nicholas M. Beckmann, M.D.

Nicholas Beckmann, M.D., of Houston, is an assistant professor of radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is a member of the American College of Radiology, Texas Radiological Society, American Society of Emergency Radiologists, American Board of Radiology, Society of Skeletal Radiology and Radiological Society of North America. Beckmann received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Kansas and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Faraz A. Khan, M.D.

Faraz Khan, M.D., of Houston, is a staff radiologist at Radiology Partners Houston. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, Radiology Society of North America, American College of Radiology and Texas Radiologic Society. He also volunteers with the Houston Food Bank. Khan received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his radiology training at Washington University in St. Louis.

 

TMB Disciplines 25 Physicians at August Meeting

At its August 19, 2022 meeting, the Texas Medical Board disciplined 25 licensed physicians. 

 

The disciplinary actions included: four orders related to quality of care violations, seven orders related to unprofessional conduct, two revocations, three voluntary surrenders/revocations, one order related to peer review action, three orders related to improper supervision/delegation, one order related to violation of board rules and four orders related to other states’ actions. The Board also ratified five cease and desist orders.

 

Texas Acupuncture Board Suspends Georgetown Acupuncture Practitioner (Li)

On December 20, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Acupuncture Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas Acupuncture license of Kanok Li, AC (Lic. No. AC01673).  

 

The Board panel found that on February 8, 2024, Mr. Li was arrested in Williamson County for Third Degree Felony Possession of Child Pornography.  

 

TMB Disciplines 18 Physicians at December Meeting

At its December 13, 2024, meeting, the Texas Medical Board disciplined 18 licensed physicians. 

 

The disciplinary actions included: three voluntary surrenders/revocations, one suspension, two orders related to unprofessional conduct, three orders related to quality of care, three orders related to standard of care, two orders related to nontherapeutic prescribing, and four orders related to other states’ actions. The Board also ratified six cease and desist orders.  

 

TMB Suspends Tyler Physician (Corley)

On December 5, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Adam Rance Corley, M.D. (Lic. No. L8316), after determining he suffers from an impairment that interferes with his ability to practice medicine, and his continued practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
