Please be aware that your account contains confidential information, and should you disclose your username and password to other parties, those parties will have access to that confidential information.

There are several systems and functions that applicants and licensees can complete with MyTMB.  System icons that display in MyTMB are based on the individual's status of the application in process or license registration status.

Applicants and most registered license types have the ability to update mailing and practice addresses online.

To update your mailing or practice address online click the link below and create a “MyTMB” account if you do not have one already.

Change of Address

If you have any questions regarding the "MyTMB" system or the online change of address, please email the Registrations Department.

Please note, the MyTMB system does not have the ability to reflect more than one practice address at this time.

MyTMB profile updates are currently limited to criminal charges and convictions, disciplinary actions by other states, and medical malpractice Jury awards.  Keep checking your account, as we will be expanding these profile update options as they come available.

Licensee profile changes/corrections/updates not submitted through MyTMB must be submitted in writing, with the signature of the licensee.

More information on the process and profile update requirements are available at Contents of the Online Profile System | Texas Medical Board

  • If you are trying to contact Licensure for an active physician application, Texas has a two-stage application process – Pre-Licensure/Screening and Licensing. Both stages use the License Inquiry System of Texas (LIST) which is an online communication system for messages to and from the Board and physician applicants regarding application requirements.

Additional information on the physician application process is located on our website Full Texas Medical License Application

  • If you are trying to complete your license registration/renewal, select Apply & Renew at the top of the page. Choose the link for your license type. Under the Renew button you will find a link to the online renewal system.

If your password is unknown or doesn’t work, enter your Username and click on the "Forgot Password " link.

You’ll then be prompted to answer 1 of your 3 Security Questions.

After answering correctly, you’ll be sent a code to your verified email address.

Once you enter the code, you’ll then be prompted to have a temporary password sent to your registered email and have access to the account.

If you no longer have access to the email address that was used to set up your account, and you are not able to access your account, please contact us at MyTMB@tmb.texas.gov and we can verify your identity and assist you with resetting your account.

We strongly recommend using a personal email address and cell phone number that you will retain access to, regardless of facility or employment changes.  Losing access to the registered email address could make account recovery more difficult and time consuming.

This function works for applicants and licensees, but only if you still have access to your Username/registered email address. You must have your TMB issued ID number if you have never been issued a license by the TMB, or your license number for those who have been issued a license number, even if the license is in a cancelled state and you are reapplying. Provide the information in the required fields, click “Send Request”, and enter the Login Code you received at your registered email.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires users to provide two or more verification factors in order to access an account. Instead of relying solely on a password (which can be stolen, guessed, or reused), MFA adds an additional layer of security through a verified phone number, email address, or security question. This greatly reduces the chances of unauthorized access, even if login credentials are compromised.

Why MFA is Being Implemented
MFA is being introduced as part of a broader security enhancement initiative to help prevent potential account-related incidents within MyTMB. This implementation helps align MyTMB with industry-standard security practices, strengthens protection against fraud, and safeguards personal and licensing information.

Most users are already familiar with MFA from banking, email, and other online services. The additional verification step takes only a few seconds while significantly improving overall system security and resilience.

What to Expect
The first phase of the rollout will enable MFA for all users with verified phone numbers on file. Users with missing information, such as a phone number, email address, or security questions, will be prompted to complete these items before continuing to the dashboard.

This ensures reliable contact points for system verification and supports secure account recovery processes.

For questions or information related to login issues with "My TMB", please include your name and ID or license number, and email MyTMB@tmb.texas.gov.

Providing your information for this login will give you access to update your account. Validate your credentials and a login code will be sent to your registered email address.
