Stakeholder Feedback Opportunity: TREO Rule Review Recommendations
Senate Bill 14 (2025) created the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (TREO), which is responsible for examining state agency regulations to lessen burdens, eliminate unnecessary rules, and enhance transparency for Texas taxpayers.
TREO has examined the Texas Medical Board (TMB) rules codified in Title 22, Part 9 of the Texas Administrative Code and provided preliminary recommendations to streamline TMB rules.
TMB is currently seeking informal stakeholder feedback on TREO’s recommendations. Please note that this process is distinct from the agency’s standard rulemaking under Government Code, Chapter 2001.
Stakeholders are invited to review the recommendations here and provide written feedback at TREO@tmb.texas.gov.
The deadline for submitting feedback is Friday, August 14, 2026.
TMB staff will evaluate feedback with TREO to determine which recommendations may move forward for formal rulemaking.
