No. S3687), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
On September 25, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Thomas Glen Ockershausen, M.D. (Lic. No. L4614), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
At its August 16, 2024, meeting, the Texas Medical Board disciplined 22 licensed physicians.
The disciplinary actions included: three orders related to unprofessional conduct, four orders related to quality of care, three voluntary surrenders/revocations, one voluntary suspension, one restriction, seven orders related to other states’ actions, two orders related to violation of Board rules, and one order related to nontherapeutic prescribing. The Board also ratified five cease and desist orders.
On August 23, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily restricted, with notice, the Texas medical license of Shahbaz Ahmed Yazdani, M.D. (Lic. No. L5188). The panel found Dr. Yazdani was charged with and was arrested for indecent assault of a patient, a Class A misdemeanor. The restriction was based on the arrest and effective immediately.
At its June 21, 2024 meeting, the Texas Medical Board disciplined 27 licensed physicians.
The disciplinary actions included: four orders related to unprofessional conduct, six orders related to quality of care, four voluntary surrenders/revocations, three revocations, four orders related to other states’ actions, two related to improper supervision or delegation, three orders related to violation of Board rules, and one order related to Texas Physician Health Program. The Board also ratified seven cease and desist orders.
On June 20, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Shahbaz Ahmed Yazdani, M.D., (Lic. No. L5188) after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
The Board panel found that Dr. Yazdani was charged with and was arrested for a Class A misdemeanor involving moral turpitude involving a patient.
The Texas Medical Board today adopted amendments to 22 TAC 165 by adding Subchapter B, new rule section 165.7-165.9 concerning Exceptions to the Abortion Ban.
