On May 22, 2026, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical radiologic technologist certificate of Thomas Luis Welch, MRT (Lic. No. GMR00102502), after determining his continuation in practice as a medical radiologic technologist would constitute a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
The Board panel found that that in April 2026, Mr. Welch was arrested and charged for possession of child pornography.
A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Mr. Welch unless the hearing is specifically waived by Mr. Welch.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
